Newsadoo is the winner of the Upper Austrian State Prize for Innovation 2020 in the category "Business Model Innovation", awarded by the state of Upper Austria and Business Upper Austria. The prestigious award was handed over personally at Newsadoo's office in Linz by provincial minister for economic affairs Markus Achleitner. The award ceremony had to be cancelled due to the corona pandemic.
The reason for the award is the current research project TIDE, which is currently being implemented with the research partners SCCH and RISC and with the support of the FFG. Under the long title "Transparent, Intelligent, Diverse, European News Recommendation Algorithm", the development of the most innovative European news recommendation algorithm is being advanced.
The category "Business Model Innovations" was awarded as a jury prize and additionally endowed with 4,000 Euros. Chairman of the 12-member, top-class jury is university principal Univ-Prof. Meinhard Lukas.
